Do you think Google Social search will get traction

Google social search gives us another way to be social. It allows you to store, sites you are linked to and customise your search using your connections.

I just finished updating my Google Social page, I will see how many of my friends or connections do t… Continue

Latest videos not intentially google focussed

Hi,

I just posted some more videos around to areas, online document collaboration and online email collaboration.
Google docs and Google wave. I only just realised that may have been very google focussed for this site, which is open to all.
I wanted to state that I think both of these tools have and will continue to change the way we work. I hope this is something that continues as we get more and more productions in our roles.

Has anyone used the Microsoft version of Google Docs? And is there… Continue

Social Media use in US Teens

Please read/comment this article (talk) about how Social Media communities are chosen and what it means about us. I particularly like the concept that Social Media will not solve everything. I prefer to think that communities will do that.

We sometimes forget that the number of people with internet access and using social media websites are just a drop in the ocean compared to the number of people on this planet… Continue

Where should a community live?

During a great discussion with a knowledgeable client on communities we discussed "Where should a community live?". This seemed like such a simple question when there was the "Social Media Land-grab" they live on our site. But now we have a handful of main community infrastructures. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and MySpace (others in other languages) it is a little more in-depth.

It seems dated to expect your community to only talk in your environment, the community will talk where they want and… Continue

Thanks for the invite.

Just discovered Ning yesterday. Despite the goofy name (marketing myopia if you ask me), I'm utterly floored by its capabilities. I setup my own private social network in under an hour, and it has all the tools (forum, blogs, video, pics, announcements -- all easy to use) I've been wanted for ages.

Looking forward to meeting others to discuss more on collaborative technologies.

Here's my new Ning forum: Online Product Training Group

They definitely like to land on a page such as this, but they also appreciate the option to jump off the tab and go back into the more traditional and familiar layout within other tabs.

I put these embedded web pages together for clients for a very low price and we are seeing amazing numbers in terms of feedback and new business.

Thank you Tony,

I used Alice 2.2 with my students to create some little worlds.
I believe it is interesting specially for a first course programming.
And I didnt knew about Metaplace, I'll see it, thank you very much.
Also, I work too in Second Life, where some colleagues and me own
a campus for teaching and learning. We have a seminar in spanish
language on mondays.

Nice to being here.
Edgar :-)
